How long are your therapy sessions?

The initial/intake consultation session is generally 90 minutes with following therapy sessions lasting 60 minutes.

Is my confidentiality protected?

The confidentiality of our clients is of paramount importance to us here at Promessa Counseling.  Clients participation in treatment and patient information will never be released without informed written consent directly from the client. We are, however, required by Florida law to breech the confidentiality in the following cases: suspicion of child or elder abuse or danger to self/others.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

A client’s level of motivation to change/ address their challenges, as well as their level of resiliency all impact the duration of treatment.  Generally after completing one to two sessions you will be provided with an estimate of the time required in therapy to achieve your goals. Some clients will seek therapy for short-term change or relief, and others will commit to a longer term of therapy. In either case, it is important to keep in mind the majority of clients generally benefit from occasional therapy sessions once their traditional course of therapy is completed. These sessions are designed to maintain the achievements gained and goals met. As you can imagine, every client is unique so the length of treatment will vary from client to client as will their outcomes and achievements.
